Mandate:
The AASM Foundation Research Career Development Committee develops and implements activities that grow the pipeline of sleep and circadian scientists by providing mentorship, methodological education, grantsmanship, networking opportunities, and strategies to better position early career investigators for a successful career in sleep research.
Goals for 2022/2023:
- Oversee the Sleep Research Program for Advancing Careers application review and final approval of mentees, mentoring pair matches, planning of activities, and outcomes assessment.
- Oversee the Young Investigators Research Forum application review and final approval of participants, event Chair and faculty nominations, planning of activities, evaluating and publishing outcomes.
- Implement the Careers in Sleep Medicine webinar series through selection of topics, panel members and facilitators, and marketing.
- Evaluate current resources available through AASM Foundation, AASM and other organizations to develop a public-facing toolkit for early career sleep researchers.

Committee members are required to disclose any relevant conflicts when appointed in order to determine the appropriate management of conflicts. Any new conflicts that arise during a member’s term must also be disclosed at that time.
