Task Force Member

Service as a task force member is a 2.5-3 year appointment and requires participation on bi-monthly conference calls to develop a project charter, review literature search results and statistical analyses as needed, and draft a clinical practice guideline or clinical guidance statement, following the clinical practice guideline development process.

This task force volunteer opportunity is specifically for the following guideline topic:  Medications for Residual Sleepiness in OSA.

Each guideline task force consists of 5-7 members.

Mandate:
Develop practice guidelines on the assigned diagnostic or therapeutic intervention based on published evidence and clinical expertise in the topic area.

Goals for guideline project:

  1. Develop and finalize a project charter.
  2. Review published evidence, and any statistical analyses of the data, on the topic.
  3. Draft clinical guidance document (and any accompanying documents) on the assigned topic based on the published evidence, any statistical analyses, and task force expertise.
  4. Address feedback received during public comment period or from external reviewers, if applicable.

Committee, task force and panel members are required to disclose any relevant conflicts when appointed in order to determine the appropriate management of conflicts. Any new conflicts that arise during a member’s term must also be disclosed at that time.
